IEC TC 56

IEC TC 56 – Dependability
IEC Technical Committee 56 (IEC TC 56) develops International Standards related to dependability, which includes the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of systems, equipment, and processes.
These standards provide methods and guidelines for assessing system performance over time, including failure analysis, risk assessment, and life-cycle evaluation.
IEC TC 56 publications are widely used in industries such as power generation, aerospace, transportation, manufacturing, telecommunications, and industrial automation.
The standards help engineers design systems that operate consistently, minimize downtime, and ensure efficient maintenance strategies.
