IEC TC 10 – Fluids for Electrotechnical Applications

IEC Technical Committee 10 (IEC TC 10) develops International Standards for fluids used in electrotechnical applications, particularly in electrical power equipment and insulation systems.
These standards specify the requirements, testing methods, classification, handling, and maintenance of insulating liquids used in transformers, switchgear, capacitors, and other high-voltage equipment.

IEC TC 10 publications cover mineral insulating oils, synthetic insulating fluids, natural and synthetic esters, and related dielectric liquids.
The standards help ensure reliable electrical insulation, efficient cooling, long service life, and safe operation of electrical equipment.
