IEC TC 26 – Electric Welding

IEC Technical Committee 26 (IEC TC 26) develops International Standards for electric welding equipment and associated technologies used in industrial and commercial applications.
These standards specify the safety, performance, testing, and operational requirements for arc welding equipment, welding power sources, accessories, and related electrical systems.

IEC TC 26 publications help ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safe operation of welding equipment in manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, automotive, oil & gas, and heavy industries.
The standards are widely used by equipment manufacturers, testing laboratories, certification bodies, engineers, and welding professionals worldwide.

SCOPE: 

To prepare standards for electrical safety, EMC and EMF matters related to the construction, installation and use of equipment for electric welding and allied processes in both normal and adverse welding environments, taking into account all safety aspects for protection against electrical and mechanical hazards for professional and non professional use and all aspects to protect the environment.
All electric welding processes are covered except electromagnetic processing.
